This privacy policy explains what personal data Solaxyra collects when you use solaxyra.com, why it is collected, and the rights you have. It is written with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) in mind.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data?
Solaxyra is operated by the owner of solaxyra.com, who is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about any privacy matter at contact@solaxyra.com.
Calculator Inputs Stay in Your Browser
Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The numbers you type, such as your energy use, tariff, system size or battery capacity, are processed on your own device to produce the result. They are not sent to our server and we do not store them. When you close or reload the page, the inputs are cleared.
If you use a “copy result” button, the result is copied to your device’s clipboard only.
What Data Do We Collect?
When you contact us
If you email us, for example with a question or an error report, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you write in the message. We use this only to read and reply to your message, investigate any reported problem and keep a record of corrections.
Server logs
Like most websites, the servers that host solaxyra.com automatically record basic technical information when a page is requested. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and the referring page. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, for example to detect abuse or fix errors, and are kept only for a limited period.
Cookies
The calculators do not need cookies to work. The site may use strictly necessary cookies set by the website software, for example to keep the site secure or remember a choice you make on the page. We do not currently use advertising cookies.
If we add analytics or any other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy before doing so, describe what each one does, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
What Is Our Lawful Basis?
- Replying to your messages: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and correcting errors on the site.
- Server logs and necessary cookies: our legitimate interest in running a secure and reliable website.
- Any future non-essential cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who Do We Share Data With?
We do not sell your personal data and we do not pass it to installers, suppliers or marketing companies. Data may be processed by service providers who help us run the site, such as our web hosting and email providers, only for the purpose of providing those services. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under data protection law.
How Long Do We Keep Data?
We keep emails for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and maintain a record of corrections, and then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, in line with our hosting provider’s settings.
What Are Your Rights?
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies.
To use any of these rights, email contact@solaxyra.com. We will respond within one month, as required by law. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK or to the data protection authority in your EU country. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
Children
The site is intended for a general adult audience and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy whenever we change how data is collected or used, for example if analytics are added. The date below shows when it was last revised. Related information is in our terms of use and on our contact page.
